How one man’s battle with illness birthed the Darkside Kings Clothing brand
Share Your StoryDarkside Kings is an Australian owned and operated small business based in Central Queensland. Our Casual, Urban Streetwear range is made for comfort and affordability, while all being finished locally.
Darkside Kings came about from an idea whilst I was bed ridden with Pericarditis. Usually an active person enjoying fishing, boating, hanging with the boys and my family doing cook ups in the smoker on my days off, I was left to recover in bed and it was a struggle. Not being able to do much because of the inflammation around my heart, I started to descend into a dark place.
My mind is always on the go, and I thought about mine and my family’s future. Is this it? Absolutely not!
I got an idea in my head to start my own label. This is what got me through the days with researching and developing a clothing brand. As I got better, I felt more inclined to go through with our idea.
With the help and support of my Queen, I felt like a King.
“Even though you may feel like you’ve hit the Darkside, you can come out as a King.”
Thus – Darkside Kings.
